The creators of South Park and Trey Parker and Matt Stone. Trey Parker and Matt Stone are bestfriends and both attended the University of Colorado. Randolph Severn Parker III, or better known as Trey Parker is an American animator, screenwriter, director, producer, voice artist, musician and actor is best known for his his development and production of the third most popular teen cartoon in America called South Park. He uses actually family names and characteristics of each family member to create a South Park character. Matthew Richard Stone, also known as Matt Stone is the second developer and producer of the hit Comedy Central cartoon South Park.
In South Park the plot and the plots impact are really relevant to present day issues, trending topics, and how the world is seen through the eyes of four young boys. South Park uses major issues affecting normal living civilians but adds a cruel, humerous and often crude twist to the whole thing. They have young boys cussing and acting very profane to show the thoughts and ways boys act when no adults are watching. Its social impact on society is often negative because grown adults often dont find humor in the cartoon and make references of how it can negatively affect their children and ban it in their household while some parents dont find a reason why their kids shouldnt watch it. At the start of every episode there is a warning saying that "All characters and events in this show - even those based on real people - are entirely fictional. All celebrity voices are impersonated - poorly. The following show contains coarse language and due to its content it should not be viewed by anyone." This gives the viewer a brief warning on the nature of the show and they can decide if they are still intrested in watching the show.
The main characters in South Park are Stan Marsh, Kyle Broflovski, Eric Cartman and Kenny McCormick. Stan Marsh is voiced by Trey Parker and loosely represents Trey as a cartoon character. Stan is a kind, caring, smart, honest, assertive and well-meaning character of the show and is bestfriends with Kyle. Kyle Broflovski is voiced by Matt Stone and is based of Stone as well. In the show Kyle is a Jew and often takes huge criticism for being one by Eric Cartman. Kyle often feels like an outsider in the group. Eric Cartman is voiced by Trey Parker. Eric is overweight, immature, spoiled, lazy, foul-mouthed, mean-spirited, racist, sexist, anti-semetic, sociopath, narcissistic, and ill-tempered child of the group often labled as jerk by his friends. Kenny is voiced by two different people. When he is mummbling he is voiced by Matt Stone but when he speaks normal he is voiced by Eric Stough. Kenny usually dies in each episode. The boys in each episode go on some journey and experience some present day issue and face it in diiferent ways.
The animation used in South Park is AutoDesk Maya and PowerAnimator. While making the animation for the cartoon the animators make new elements using Corel Draw and then export them as Adobe Illustrator files. Adobe Photoshop is used in South Park for fonts, texture maps, and real photos of celebrities to add the realistic detail. The Photoshop and Illustrator files are then sent into Alias/Wavefront's Power Animator 8.5 and Composer on SGI O2 and Octane workstations, where they are used for animating the episodes. After the animation gets Trey's approval, it is sent with the audio to be edited and mixed using Avid Media Composers on Mac computers. Each of the producers (Matt and Trey) are assigned to make animation and voice over.
A couple of facts of South Park are that each of the characters is resembled as one of the producers family. For example "Stan Marshes" dad is called Randy but
